** Angel Studios said on Wednesday it would go public in the U.S. via a merger with blank-check firm Southport Acquisition Corp in a deal valued at $1.6 billion. nL4N3KT155
** Offshore drilling contractor Seadrill SDRL.N is looking to buy more assets or create a larger player by merging with peers, the company's CEO said on Wednesday. nL8N3KT1GT
** Private equity firm EQT EQTAB.ST is exploring a sale of its majority stake in Banking Circle, hoping any deal would value the payments processor at more than $2 billion, including debt, several people familiar with the matter said. nL8N3KS234
** Danish logistics company DSV DSV.CO won the race to buy Schenker, the rail logistics arm of German state railway Deutsche Bahn, sources at the railway and at the German government said. nL1N3KT0ZM
** RTX RTX.N is open to pruning and pairing its existing businesses rather than pursuing "transformative" mergers and acquisitions, the aerospace giant's CEO said on Wednesday. nL4N3KT1IU
** A top Nippon Steel 5401.T executive and U.S. Steel's CEO are meeting with senior U.S. officials on Wednesday in an effort to salvage Nippon's $14.9 billion bid for U.S. Steel X.N, a person familiar with the matter said. nL1N3KT0VH
** Marine fuels supplier Peninsula has spun off its shipping operation into a separate entity named Hercules Tanker Management (HTM), a Peninsula press release said on Wednesday, seeking to expand in the tanker freight sector. nL1N3KT0VQ
** A BlackRock-managed fund BLK.N has bought a minority stake in a pipeline linking Saudi Arabia and Bahrain from Bahrain state oil firm Bapco Energies, the two firms said, as the small Gulf state tries to extract value from its energy assets. nL1N3KT0FP
** UniCredit's CRDI.MI CEO approached Commerzbank about exploring merger talks on Wednesday, a source with knowledge of the matter said, after Italy's second-largest bank bought a 9% stake in the German lender and signalled it was open to buying more. nL8N3KT05N
** Commerzbank's CBKG.DE management has discussed how to keep the German lender independent, exploring defence strategies to resist a potential bid from UniCredit CRDI.MI, a person familiar with the discussions said on Wednesday. nL8N3KT1LC
